4PLANET IMPACT / ISSUE
Vulnerable food systems
Food systems can be disrupted by climate hazards, ecological degradation, conflict, disease, market shocks and dependence on narrow supply chains.
Why it matters
Resilience depends on diversity, infrastructure, institutions, ecological conditions and access, not a single production metric.
What the sources establish
The IPBES Nexus Assessment shows that food, water, health, biodiversity and climate risks are interconnected and can reinforce one another.
Published action
No project on this issue has passed the IMPACT publication gate yet. That is not evidence that no work exists.
Known and not established
- Do not predict food shortages or resilience at a place without current, place-specific evidence and a defined model.
- This issue record is source-grounded context, not proof that any particular project, action or intervention is effective.
